Weird Noises under dash area driver side

2007 RDX
I just purchased a used RDX for my daughter. It had some issues that are not uncommon. I think I have some electrical issues, I have disconnected the hands free in hopes of fixing the battery issues. The thing I haven't been able to fix yet is a very weird sound that comes from under the dash (inside only) on the driver's side. I have a video, and I'll post it as soon as I figure out how. It is loud, and happens with or without A/C on. I have read the forum pretty extensively, and I haven't found any issues quite like this one. Anyone had something like this on their '07?

Thanks in advance!

Here's the video I shot. It happens while driving as well as at idle, with or without a/c...

More than likely it's the driver side air mix motor that is right near that plastic panel; part no 13 in the diagram linked below:

common issue with MDX's where it makes a very similar noise.

ok, will check it out. I had read alot about that issue, but didn't think it was the same. I guess the MDX forum had more info... Thanks, and I will update if it is something else.

Looks like this is the issue. I can quiet the noise by either changing the mode of the A/C (understanding that it can happen when the A/C is off) and / or changing the temperature setting on driver side up or down to max or min. When I get time I will go through the effort to lube the part in question as other threads have suggested.

Thanks again!

I'm glad you were able to describe and capture this noise. I've got the same issue and it drives me nuts! If you figure out the fix, please update this post. I really can't afford the time or the $ to start throwing money at it right now. Good luck!

This exact noise has happened twice within the past month. It's not consistent, but that video is exactly what I was experiencing. I was with a co-worker when it first happened and I thought my dashboard was about to explode.

Scott Wight was it your driver side air mix actuator?
