Sunlight Sensor Problem?

When I turn on my headlights, the nav display automatically goes into night mode (darker screen/colours). However, I thought in daylight, the sunlight sensor would set the nav display to daylight mode (for easier viewing) - even when the headlights are on.

Have I misunderstood this feature on the nav display? Or could this be a problem with the sunlight sensor?

Thanks!

I get the same behavior, not sure if this is normal or not.

Normal. you can turn your dimmer switch on high. and the navi will turn bright.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes - the brightness can be turned all the way up, but then the system does not switch to NIGHT mode when the headlights are on (and it's dark outside).

The user's manual for the navigation system contains a section on the logic for "Switching Display Mode" under System Setup. It clearly states "If the sunlight sensor detects daylight and the headlights are turned on, the navi automatically overrides (cancels) the NIGHT display and displays the DAY display mode".

I was wondering if anyone can confirm this logic actually works??

Appreciated.
