Starting problem
Starting problem
I have a 2008 RDX tec. with 56000 miles. No problems so far. The last few days
problem started. I turn the key, nothing happens, no sound, no lights. Tried a few more times and it started. Worked all day. Today didn't start. I called the AAA. It started with his jumper. His computer showed good battery, good alternator. Drove to Acura dealer, they were to busy. Went to Honda dealer, they took me ride away, but had no idea what the problem is. They ck. the battery, same result, good battery, good alternator.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Doesn't sound like you drive the car too much (based on the mileage and the year of the car).
I would say that it was just low on battery after leaving it un-driven for a while. A good jump & drive - the alternator charged up the battery. End of story?

So it either starts right up, or nothing at all? Did you by chance inspect the battery connections? They tend to get corrosion build up if they aren't cleaned regularly, and this could make your connection spotty at best. If not there, still sounds like a connection issue somewhere in the system. Good luck tracking it down if so.
OP,
If it was a dead battery it would never start until it's jumped. It would turn over slow or then not at all. The lights would work, but a bit dim.
But you say at one point repeated tries with no indication of any battery power, resulted in starting?
So it seems like the symptoms are pointing to the key switch working intermittently. Ask the dealer if they can ck it.
Also, I remember having a chip in the key as part of an "immobilizer" system. Not sure if that system is still used. If it is, back then the problem was fixed by wiping the key clean with rubbing alcohol.
