Re: Differential Fluid Temperature Sensor

Hi

I just had routine maintainance performed at 24,00 miles (oil&filter change, air filter change, cabin filter change) - used local mechanic that I have used in the past.

They mentioned that the left rear differential fluid "temperature sensor" was covered with oil

They advised taking it to my Acura Dealer & that it should be covered under warranty - I contacted Acura & they said that they will have to perform a full chargeable inspection, before agreeing that it is covered any warranty...

Does anybody have any advice/guidance ?

Thx

That is pretty normal. When I had my TL, I used my code reader to determine an error code and when I took it to them they said they had to charge me $95 to check the code and if the problem was covered under warranty, I wouldn't have to pay the $95. It was covered so I didn't pay.
They have to say that in case the problem is not what you say. If your problem is covered under warranty, they should not charge you anything. But if there is nothing wrong, you will probably get charged for the inspection.
