Rdx lock actuator failure work around

All, not sure if people are already aware, but the lock actuator for the passenger front seems to be difficult to obtain. After looking in the auto salvage with no luck I was able to transfer the small motor within the lock actuator from a alvage driver's side into my passanger side. The small motor on my failed passanger front actuator showed open during continuity check. The salvage actuator was only $17.00.

I will mention dissasembling & re assembling the lock actuator is 8 out of 10 difficulty.

Nice out of the box thinking! People usually replace the entire actuator out of convenience , but yes, the motor is usually the failure point (if not the plastic worm gears). I’ve rebuilt actuators from other cars using new Japanese motors off eBay as well with great luck.
