I'm new here and I hope to get a solution to my problem. I have a 2007 RDX. drove this morning with a smooth running power steering. On getting to my destination I observed that it has become hard to turn. At a point it worked again, then stopped working, then work again and now not responding. Please help a soul

 

Any groaning coming from the power steering pump? If it's making noise, it should be easy to hear with windows down (maybe even with windows up). If so (and really either way), I'd recommend the following steps:

1. Check the power steering fluid level. The tank is just behind the passenger headlight, and has markings for high and low. (assuming left hand drive)
2a. If fluid is at correct level, then you likely aren't leaking (yet). Get it changed out asap. It's not hard to DIY, you can find a couple tutorials right on the site.
2b. If very low or no fluid in the tank, you may have a leak and should get it checked out by a shop.

 

Power Steering issues are common on the RDX's, 2007 being the worst!

Mine whines sonetimes when parking after a long drive, usually in warmer weather, but it's really intermittent. Been like that since I got it in 2016, 63K miles later, no difference for me.

I like it heavy. But mine lightens up with rolling! Heavy-ish when parked, but not nearly as heavy as my TL was. You should check yours out, though!

 

I have a 2007 and have no problem or noise on power steering.
Check your oil, replace it if you can.
Check tension marks on tensioner, if not align up to specs, belt maybe to stretched, replace the belt.

 

 

It's my power steering pump, have other priorities first, however.
