Hey guys, I got an issue with my RDX recently where I can't get past 3k rpm, as if theres a limiter. The check engine light came up and i got P0234, I did do some searching on it, i get it's an overboost issue, but can't really understand which part could it be. I read that some are saying it can be the waste gate, some saying it can be a leaky hose.

Anyone else had this issue in the past?

Car is bone stock no mods done to the car.

 

I would do a smoke test on it to verify if it is a vacuum hose leak . Once you do a smoke test that can help determine if it's bad hose or hoses if not next step would be checking the turbo wastegate for cracks or damage.

Its either a wadtegate issue bent rod on wastegate or crack other very possible issue is vacuum leak from a broken hose going to the boost controller. Start small and check the vacuum hose for cracks easily done with a smoke machine or blow smoke in the brake booster like and see where it comes out

 

Try changing your knock sensor that may help just my 2 cents

 

Just got this code sorry for the thread from the dead again. Cleared it but it didn't come back again yet...P0234 Turbocharger "A" Over-boost Condition. Going to try to change the Actuator Eye Bolt.

 

did the eye bolt change fix your prob?..i bought a while new actuator.. it should be here this week.
