Inner/Outer Tie Rod replacement

I purchased a 2010 Acura RDX from my wife's Aunts estate in May and found out it had a bad inner tie rod on the right side and a bad outer tie rod on the left side. I decided to go ahead and replace both inner and outer tie rods and went with Moog parts as well as the bellows. Going to replace all parts this afternoon and get an alignment tomorrow.

Wish me luck!

Replaced everything myself in 2 hours, it was pretty easy. Spent about $120.00 on Moog parts and some threadlock. Just watched some Youtube videos and did it myself.

NTB gave me an estimate of $650.00 to replace everything so I saved a cool $530.00. I'm still giving NTB $79.99 for an alignment though.

With my daughter getting married July 5th every penny counts!

Nice! Always good to save a couple hundred bucks and you get the good parts.

Just curious, what was your main symptom that led you to tie rods? Vibrations, off-center wheel, something else?

In Virginia we have a State inspection and during the inspection they checked for tire movement for struts/ tie-rods/shocks and after inspection of the front-end they told me about the bad inner tie rod on the right side and a bad outer tie rod on the left side.

I'm always doubting when someplace that sells the products says they are bad but sure enough they were going bad. I figured I had good tread wear left on my Michelin's on the car so I wanted to fix it before the alignment went bad and made the tires wear faster.

So I had no physical warning the tie rods were going bad like knocking or vibrating but still count it as a blessing I got an early warning.

Very interesting, we definitely don't deal with that kind of attention in AZ. As long as my car's farts don't smell too bad, I'm in the clear.
