Engine/Transmission Vibration/Noise?
Engine/Transmission Vibration/Noise?
Bought a new RDX with Tech package last week and have noticed a vibration/noise when RPM's are 2700-3000 and you're on the gas. Seems to be coming from the front wheels or may be the engine. I've had turbos before, and this doesn't sound anything like the turbo whoosh or whine I'm accustomed to. Its quite noticable and enough of a vibration to seriously shake the rearview mirror when your doing 70 on the interstate. Also happens at low speeds as well and only at about the RPMs stated above. Anybody else experience this, or should I take it in.
I haven't experienced this. Just a guess, but maybe it is the electric vacuum pump that kicks in to draw more air in. Happens in extreme cold and high altitude.
But if its "shaking your rearview mirror", then it doesn't sound really good. I'd take it in to the dealer to have them verify good or bad. Especially if it is consistent and easy to show them.

au34tiger, what area do you live, I had the same thing two weeks ago, I phoned the dealer and it was ice build up on the rims, I took it to the car wash and cleaned them off and all's well, if you live in the ice snow / zone it could be as simple as that.
