Engine/Transmission Problem???

I bought my 6MT TSX back in September and during the first week or so of driving the engine revved freely and the transmission shifted smoothly. Since then I've noticed engine hesitation and now the transmission feels tight. It feels like I'm towing a small trailer. Even though it drives this way most of the time, there are times when it revs easily and the transmission shifts great. Now when I get in the car I wonder how it's going to run.

I definitely took it easy during the first 600 miles, however, my 25 mile drive to work every morning consists mostly of stop and go traffic and I'm usually in first, second and third gear for most of the trip. I'm wondering if I damaged the engine/transmission by this type of driving during the brake in period?

Any suggestions?

You're using 91 octane fuel right? If not, try that. Otherwise, sounds like the engine might be in a safe mode for one reason or another. Blown but non-critical sensor somewhere? That wouldn't explain the tranny being tight though.

Suggestion: just take it in to Acura.

Thanks SteVTEC and emlude.

I'm using 93 octane Sunoco gas so I don't think that's the problem. I also checked the e-brake to make sure it's not partially engaged.

I definitley plan on taking it back to the dealer but I have a feeling they may tell me that because it's an intermittent problem it'll be hard to tell what it is. I'll mention the possiblility of a blown sensor.

If you have a sensor gone, their computers will pick it up. Keep us up-to-date on the findings.
