Door handles not matching

When looking at the inside of my RDX doors today I noticed that the large plastic door handles (grips) do not match. It seems like 3 of them are clear coated silver and the drivers side is really rough and not shiney like they forgot to clear it. I also noticed upon further inspection that one of the other handles is not cleared on half and gets dull towards the top. They all look silver but the drivers door looks like a totally differant shade than the others and is now bothering me. Just curious if anyone elses inside plastic door handles are off in color. No big deal just just wondering if I got a bad batch maybe? Or are they all mix and matched? Thanks

I don't think any of the silver pieces in mine look anything close to clear coated.

How strange -- I noticed something similar. I haven't actually looked closely at the other door pulls (don't ever use them), but the one on the driver's door doesn't strike me as top quality. It feels rough near the top and seems like the silver paint was not applied thorougly, or there is some overspray. I will compare it to the other handles next time I get a chance.

Thanks for the response guys. I am not real picky (ok just a little) but this was a big purchase for the family and for this kind of money it kind of bugs me that they do not match up. The rest of the truck is awesome quality just these handles seem to have slipped through quality control. I am almost tempted to just order some new ones.

Not a bad idea, but first make sure the replacements will actually be better! Who knows, they could all be like that.

Do the silver covers just pop off from the front?

Maybe just repaint them yourself to get the consistency you want. I'll have to look at mine closely to see if mine is anything like you describe. I glanced at all the silver pieces today and they all look the same, but I didn't go around and feel them.

I dont think they pop off. When I had the door panel off I saw some screws inside going to the handle. So I think that you have to remove the panel which is quite easy now that I have done it.

Good idea, I might just repaint them when the weather breaks.

What you describe would be a manufacuring defect. Why take it upon yourself to fix / paint etc. Take it in under your warrenty and have them replaced.

All depends on what you want to end up with and how picky you are about it. It could be that nothing is "wrong" with the handles and Acura wouldn't replace anything under warranty. By painting them yourself, you get exactly what you want. You can even change the color if you want to say a matte black finish which I would prefer to the satin silver. I've been thinking about painting all those parts in mine. If I didn't like it, it would be my own fault and I could always order replacement parts. They aren't that expensive.
