engine quit while driving

Hey guys,

I just bought a certified preowned rdx tech 2009 and i love it. The driver side headlight has some condensation in it which is getting replaced this week after they looked at it at the dealership. Today driving home from the gym i noticed that the nevigation kept restarting about every 30 seconds. Suddenly the check abs light came on and went aaway. A little later all the electrical power went out for a moment (power brakes, steering lights) but a second later the engine started back again. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you have an idea what might have caused this?

Start with the battery connections. Clean up the posts and terminal ends with a battery brush. Reconnect them snug and tight.

If that doesn't have much effect, get the battery and alternator checked at Advance or Autozone -- they have a good little scanner for this.

With any luck, all you need might be a new battery.

Definitely take it to the dealer and have them do a diagnostic on it. Especially since it's certified and still under warranty.

Yes, by all means you should get a warranty repair.

But you can get a quick free diagnosis at the auto parts store without scheduling and waiting for a dealer visit. You will also be prepared with information of your own before you go in.

You should take it to the dealer at your first chance TODAY and AFTER they diagnose or resolve your issue, then post here to tell us WTF is going on.... But I agree - sounds like a bad battery connection only (hopefully)

good luck

OK this makes me sooo MAD! I stopped to check my battery this afternoon, low and behold someone last week at the local Acura dealer forgot to tighten the screw connecting the cable to the positive terminal. As soon as i wiggled it, came right off. So i tightened it but they're getting a nasty phone call tomorrow... Thanks for your support.
