The right rear wheel light is on .........

The right rear wheel light is on all the sudden this morning. I know the car is due for brake service, but I guess it shouldn't cause the wheel light to come on as I believe there is no brake sensor, right? And the tire pressure looks fine. Not sure what is causing that. I have a mechanic appointment this Friday for the brakes change. I am just worrying about the long driving in the next few days before Friday.

Does anyone know what that light prompt is for?

There is an ABS sensor wire that plugs in to a receptor/clip (harness) just forward of the wheel and is visible from the side while the RDX is parked and on the ground. Start there and see if it is unplugged, if it is plugged in, then there is a short or torn wire or there is another harness internally that may have been disconnected.

So simply go and look for a grey connector/ harness with a thick black wire w/ stripe and make sure that is connected.

Let us know if it does the trick.

So with an RDX base model, your indicator should look something like this. This is the low tire pressure indicator for the right rear tire. This light is unrelated to the ABS system and it has no electrical connector at the wheel hub. The tire pressure sensor is inside the wheel and communicates by radio frequency with a receiver box up inside the wheel well.

The individual low tire light should be accompanied by the main low pressure light, which looks like this:

If you have these two lights, the TPMS is seeing low pressure on the RR tire. It could be a malfunction of that sensor, or it may be low pressure due to the colder weather (tires lose pressure as the temp drops).

It's very hard to judge tire pressure by looking. Have you tried checking the tire pressure with a gauge? There is a good possibility that it is just low due to cold (or maybe a nail).

Hey Acruardx, you have an appointment on Friday. Did any of these suggestions apply to your problem?

Most people according to survey generated by Yahoo! Stated that vast majority of people misunderstand the tpms (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) as some sort of catastrophic event, 737 you are "vfr on top" of it!
