Door Locks

I have a 2007 RDX. I noticed that flipping the switch to unlock the door while inside the vehicle, seems like an electronic action. It doesn't seem there is any mechanical linkage related to that door switch. Which makes me wonder. If power is needed to unlock the doors, what would happen if suddenly there is no power to the vehicle and the battery is dead? Would you still be able to unlock the door or would you technically get stuck inside? Reason I ask is I've had other vehicles in the past die power wise, and I'd hate the idea of being trapped inside a vehicle. I noticed when I used the key to unlock the door when my fob wasn't working correctly, I had issues afterwards trying to get back out from a locked door. That was a one time thing.

There is a mechanical lock switch by the inner door handle.

So that actually is a mechanical switch then? It feels like it's electronic with hearing solenoids working to open the door. I guess I was wrong.

That mechanical switch is moved by an electronic solenoid when you use keyfob, and depending on the model when you physically move it there is an electronic signal that locks all the other doors. You could be hearing either.

Also the lock mechanism usually has a physical spring inside so when you move it over halfway the spring finishes the job, so you can hear that too.

I've had driver actuators fail at arround 100k miles on every honda/Acura I've owned. And batteries die every 5 years st least. Every time the electronic part fails the physical lock in the picture still works.

This. I believe locking/unlocking the driver's door triggers all doors, even via the manual switch. Try operating any other door and you probably won't hear the same noises.
