Disc Drive Error

I got this message on the RDX last week, haven't had the chance to bring car in to the dealership, but is there a DIY for this? Has anyone had any luck fixing it on their own?

What is this in relation to? The DVD Nav or the CD Player?

I hate to ask a stupid question but are you sure you inserted the DVD correctly (label side up)? Not sure what would cause that error.

Yea. The disc was slightly scratched, but the dealership is saying that I need to replace the WHOLE navi system? Like some $600 repair job. I'm also out of warranty.
