I have a 2008 RDX with the technology package and recently I noticed on the upper display screen where it shows the clock, temperature, and radio stuff, there are a bunch of wacky dashes and lines lit up. I have figured out that I can change the displayed dashes and stuff with the driver-side temp control and the screen is absolutely normal on every temperature ending in 8 so 58,68, and 78, the screen looks normal, and then every time you change the temperature using the driver side control it goes through the same collection of dashes and things each time. I tried disconnecting the battery to reset the radio but nothing changed. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Omg yes! Well, I haven’t noticed the temps ending in 8 thing. It started a while after I unplugged a thing under the passenger side seat but did not fix itself when I plugged it back in.
To me it sounds like there is static buildup or an improper ground which is affecting the upper display. The device is partially functional so its unlikely something is fried. Try to check for corrosion on the radio connections and the ground points on the car.
