the last table had nothing to do with the transmission.

its a fail safe to prevent damage to the awd if it doesnt hit the targeted boost it kicks in that error and limits u to fwd till you restart. i will say that after my full current tune and actually after like the 3rd log i never had it happen again even on high boost the problem is mine wont stay stable with the iats so were keeping it low. high boost it will sometimes allow knock sometimes retard and sometimes run perfectly fine. damn ecu logic

do you mean your iat wasn't stable or the map it was choosing wasn't a good map?

mY IAT's run 35-55. I can hold 15psi for a couple mins when iat's are 144 but no biggie. My newest revision (#10) pulls very harrrd. Average boost i see is 12psi 10 at 6500.

I'm carrying a little more boost then that but not a huge difference. your could be faster with a little less boost and a better timing curve!

drastic weather changes from 5 degrees to 75 degrees in a month makes it wig out or at least on mine. i had for instance the same map with no changes made do three different things at different temps. stable...retard....and knock all on the same map three different days three different logs. frustrating :-\

waiting to see if the mods you guys have in any certain combo is fixing some of the problems. i downpipe would prob let me push more psi with less scavenger effect im thinking.

This is concerning to me. Living in Wisconsin this can happen often in spring and fall.
I think I am going to get a dyno tune though King Motorsports.

Dyno & Tuning for Honda and Acura | King Motorsports Unlimited

Its more pricey then Vit's but I NEED to have a stable tune regardless of ambient temperature as this is my daily in the winter!

im guessing that this has to do with being near the edge of the performance envelope and that the further out there you get the less predictable it will become. did the knock happen at part throttle?

get it in writing that they guarantee the tune to be stable. its my understanding that its a software limitation not a tuner issue.

I see. I will do that.
I'm not going to be having them tune it on the edge, more of a streetable tune that will encompass all of my bolt on parts.

I see he does not have a sub category for the RDX.
Are you looking at the K-Series sub category specifically?

ya we had it stable with really good boost then the cold hit and it would start knocking as soon as went full throttle part throttle not so much so then i made another run and the ecu retarded it.

its mostly a software issue not a tuning issue. we had the rdx maxed out on the stock injectors and the ecu got funky.

however at lower boost my pull and power curve are still fantastic.

we have decided not to up boost on mine untill a fix comes along.

some other guys are getting away with abit more boost depending where they live and also depending on some supporting mods i think.

i only have a cpe intake, most of my money has been dumped into the handling department lately lol.

another quick not....doing a data log before the engine has reached its max warm up in the cold seems to trigger knock because id get some knock first run no knock the second, good rule of thumb let the fucker get really warmed up, drive around for like 20 minutes then do a log

yea need to make sure it is up to operating temp before logging. Also more data the better.. i always send 5 logs and usually 2 30min logs for the daily driving part then i send a few 3rd gear wot pulls. the last ones i sent we had a lot of traffic and could only hit 6k. More data the better so he can tune it. I just received my first new map with more boost and its nice.. not a crazy increase but its noticable. I have been averaging 2-3 new maps a week and i am on version2.0 now.

so my tune is done... about 10-11 revisions from the base hondata map. I am going to start installing the downpipe today then going to do a retune from vit. This thing pulls wayyyyy better than when i first put the hondata map on. I had some kids with a brand new Vw gti screwing with me and lets put it this way... it wasnt even a race..he had no chance to keep up haha then he pulled up next to me and the look on his face was priceless. I love this thing.. i cant wait to put the downpipe on.

I am loving the downpipe. Fwd it just smokes 1st and second. I will have my wheel sensor tomarow so back to awd. I have noticed and spoke to josh about his, I drive my car harrrd so when I pulled the IC to do the downpipe I noticed thin coating of oil in the intercooler. Fast forward today and idling for 30mins and I start to smell burning oil... Blip the throttle and what do ya know a nice cloud.. This isn't my first turbo rodeo so time for a oil/air seperator. I'm going to to the VC with AN fittings and have a nice custom air/oil separator built by a local shop. Just a FYI for you guys with a buncha bolts on and like to drive hard. I figured the IC was heat soaked and the oil was dripping into the TB.

the wheel sensors are a bitch! the old one broke off, had to drill it out, then the new one i tapped it a little to seat and broke the ear that holds the bolt on off... ugh hahah the fun of modding your car. I love the power and shit is a beassssssssst!

rdxchris710 nice boost gauge!

Are you running a Tial QR BOV?

No fouler on the 02 sensor? Did you get a CEL? or I think you mentioned you tuned off the second 02 with your FP?

I wouldn't drive it to hard with the AWD malfunctioning. This will throw off the balance of things. I know, I'm replacing axles because I thought it was cool and thought the car pulled super hard with the FWD only. Wrong, with the miles I had on the car and the Driveshaft disconnected, it ruined the axles. Just FYI

You didn't soak the wrap in water did you? When you do, it will go on there snug and not get loose like that.

No water I could not wrap that far up due to one of the bolts. The thickness of the wrap disabled me from getting anything on the bolt to tighten the DP. I've been driving hard in fwd .. Oh well. New wheel sensor will be here Monday. The bov is a old skewl turbonetics raptor bov. The insulation on the firewall is from my frustrations of ripping the old DP out. I drive it 50-100 miles a day the last week in fwd with no issues. Going from 5th to 3rd is the best part. Hard for anything to keep up. I won't make any videos until I get the wheel sensor fixed. I might goto the dyno next week and make a single run for giggles. I still need a retune this tune is only for a CPE and dw800s. . no secondary 02 I disabled and put a plug in it. Top of the list is a air oil seperator, battery relocation then the water to air. Its imbarassing at the drive thru burning oil if there is a long line haha. I found out I've been driving on a suspended license for 2 years. $151 to re instate my license and empty pockets, I at least have a full tank of 93 good things coming for these things. Get those dp's , intakes and injectors in the fun is just about to start.

Thats good news. Was this an update from Hondata or was it Vit who stopped the timing pull?

hondata is the one who figured it out.. im going high boost with this opition on and off tonight to see what effects it will have.. here is the video i did last night.. give it a few as some edits are being processed. Vit is the one who is telling us if it works or not by checking my logs. He said it looked ALOT better.. which is good. I really have to thank josh (thewrench) and the guys at hondata long with vit.. this would have never got figured out if we did not kick and scream and now we have good progress. Hopefully a offical release will be out soon as i finish up the logs and vits can finally say what they did fixes the issue.
