RDX Intake Can't decide..

I want to buy an intake but can't decide in which one!. I was going to buy the weapon R but I read it need to be modified to fit etc.. I was then looking at the CP&E which really looks the best IMO but really looking to pay less.. So the questions is which one is best for performance and maintenance.

CP&E
Weapon R
K&N Typhoon
or custom intake with AEM Dry filter ..?

I would say either CP&E or weapon R with a AEM dry filter.

Or you can get the same intake as KenB350z but you would need to relocate your battery.

KenB350z filter looks sick but relocating the battery is not an option... Amazon has the weapon R for 178.00 but don't I need to modify it to fit... I could have swearer I saw this in another thread.

I am not sure if all needs to be modded shorter but I had too because it was hitting the ECU which it is not suppose too.

You can ask the seller to make sure Weapon R sent out the correct intake pipe since all the intake comes from their location.

They already have the correct measurements.
If not; email Chris that you are planning to place an order with the vendor's name but wanted to make sure the intake pipe will not hit the ECU.

I may just pull the trigger on the weapon R.. cost wise its the best one... Plus I don't see any additional benefit going with the CP&E.

My CP-Ebis sitting on my dining room table. Installing it tonight. Also, something to consider is that a cpl people with Weapon-Rs are throwing codes now. Read the end of the Weapon R post in the forum. Just a heads-up...

Wow... maybe the RDX is not the ideal car for an upgraded intake.

so I guess its only the Weapon R.. Maybe its the filter Cuz JCRDX11 has the Weapon R but replaced the filter with an AEM one... and he's the only one with weapon R intake with no issues.

Not trying to say one is better than the other. I had already decided on and ordered the CPE intake before I heard about the Weapon-R codes. Was just giving the heads-up since I had just read about it.

Switch out to the AEM filter because I wanted the dry flow type.
I can still use the Weapon R filter with no codes and problem.

Nope, all good since install. Well, none except for the wife code. She thought the blowoff valve was "hurting the engine", lol.

Well seems I won't be getting the Weapon R after all. The Amazon Vendor didn't have them in stock so they canceled my order. Anyone know where I can get a CP&E for a good price ?

One of the main reason why I did not chose the CP&E intake is because I am worry about hydrolock. (It is a good intake)

As you know NYC has alot of rain, puddles and overflown sewers.
We do our best to avoid it but what if you are on the highway/ one way street and it is flooded.

Food for thoughts.

I have the pre-filter on mine, haven't had any water issues (and we get a ton of rain/water here in Oregon). I also noticed that particular area in the engine bay doesn't get much splash.

Important note: Partially related to it's length, the CP-e will get pretty hot under the hood if you don't cover it with a sleeve or insulation tape.

Some individuals have said that the oiled filter can gradually coat the wire on the air flow sensor with oil causing it to give false readings. This can happen if you over-oil the filter after you have cleaned it. However, I've used an oiled filter on three cars with these sensors and never had an issue.

As for the sound of the CP-e, my lady hates it. But I love it. Whooosh P-ssssst Yessssssssss!

Hi, I'm looking for an intake for my RDX so far I've heard the CPE is the best but $298 is a little much. Anyone know of anyone selling a used one or if it possible to get one cheaper? Thanks.

Unfortunately you have to pay to play.
If you know and hear CPE is the best - why not save up to get the best?

If not; the only other choices is the K&N or Weapon R.

I have a weapon R intake and switch it to a AEM dry flow filter.
