Exhaust Headers

Does anyone know what existing aftermarket headers would fit?

It has nothing to do with exhaust manifold (or as you called it "headers"). Its more about design of an exhaust system, such as downpipe, resonators, muffler.

Explanation: exhaust gases are getting out of an engine head into an exhaust manifold. BUT, since we have a turbo, they (gases) are directed right into a turbo system. Basically they are the force that spins your turbo, and than they are exiting a turbo right into a downpipe. The rest is exhaust system.

I'm thinking a downpipe from RV-6 might be all he needs to get a noticeable change in exhaust note if only interested in volume at accel/WOT. Downpipe without cat section will be even louder still.

Otherwise you're getting into the whole catback exhaust setups which are costly and not worth the $/horsepower IMHO...even though some do make a nice noise

Is the Downpipe install a DIY project for a handy guy, but by no means a mechanic? You all talk about it like it is the best mod besides the Flashpro. I was just wondering how much harder it is than say the Cold air intake? Thanks all!

it depends on how mechanically inclined you are.. need to remove the intercooler and also work from the top down and some of the bolts can be tricky.. it can be done if you have enough patience.. there is another way to do it but it requires removing more things and is alittle longer.. but easier to get to

currently there isnt a DIY for it

its a LOT harder then a cold air intake...!...

see who your near and if they are willing to help out with the install. I can tell you if you cut the outlet flange off the factory close coupled cat it comes off way easier that way. also if your not a fan of getting small cuts everyplace then have a shop do it. there is a lot of sharp shit in that engine bay.

I just went with a formula turbo Z single chamber muffler, about 2/3 size of the original, stock tips and deleted the resonator, it now sounds real similar to an Evo with Cobb cat back system. I am not sure if this muffler is sold outside Canada as it seems to be sold exclusively at Carline here. Highly recommend though.
