Difficulty of downpipe install
Didn't want to hijack the other downpipe install thread, but how much trouble have those of you that live in the northern part of the US had with removing the downpipe?

If I can somewhat hijack gearhead's question, what is the difference between the RV6 j-pipe and the Magnaflow Hi-flow Cat pipe I am seeing on the internet? I assume they are not the same thing, but do they accomplish the same objective of achieving less restriction in the exhaust? I am trying to decide my next mod, whether the TMIC, or an exhaust type modification. 2011 RDX FWD with Hondata and CPE intake already. Thanks all.

So far so good. I only have 45K miles on it, so maybe the trouble starts with more miles. Plus I don't drive it hard in Sport mode and such. I live in Orlando, FL, so the roads are usually crowded with numerous stoplights. I actually don't enjoy driving to work in it since I can't get going past 45 usually.

There has been varying messages regarding the ease or lack of ease for the installation of this RV6 pipe. Wrench had to cut heatshields and tilt the engine, whatever that means. (But he can do anything to a car) Others say to snake it out and in from top after the TMIC is removed and that is it. Different strokes for different folks I guess, but maybe I will just put on an ATLP exhaust and see what that gets me. Sorry not to be able to answer your question gearhead, but there is not a lot of info on the forum for this installation. Oil changes, yes. J-pipe install, no.
