go to k2motor.com and buy a spec-d exhaust catback

I'm sure you could get a custom job at any good shop with the proper materials and equip (BendPak 302 & 2-1/2" tubing).

Last cat back exhaust I had done on a 4 banger was on the Speed6. It was $290* (3") with muffler AND tip! I thought it was really reasonable. If you were to buy the CP-e SS system for the Speed6 it is now $690.

For cat-back, I recommend getting your choice of muffler (I bought Magnaflow 12267 from Amazon, free shipping) then taking it to your local muffler shop to install it using mandrel bends. The stock system has mandrel bends so it'd be a waste if you're going to use crushed bends.
You can have them install a cat-back or axle-back for about $150-400 with your choice of tips. Much cheaper than purchasing a full exhaust system and having it shipped.

How much did you pay for the muffler shipped?
(they add sales tax now, sniff)
Do you have a sound clip of yours on the car?
Is it loud or droneish at cruising speed? TIA

Normally if you buy the parts - it would be around $400-600 max to have a exhaust shop custom make one including part and labor.
Might not be as nice as the ATLP one but for more than half the price.
It doesn't seem to bad of a deal if you have the time and patience to research a little between the parts needed and a good exhaust shop.

Thanks IJ, thats a much cheaper way to go. I could delete the b pipe and swap in a magna flow, and run the stock tips.

No sound clips at the moment.
Not dronish if you have a resonator. You will get drone without a resonator so keep the stock one, or get a Vibrant Ultra Quiet Resonator if you delete the B pipe. No need to delete the B pipe if you don't plan on sticking to 2.25" though. Most people just need an axle-back.

For street you can stick with 2.25" or upgrade to 2.5". I suggest starting with a 2.5" axleback and 2.5" B-pipe with resonator, keeping the stock flange locations so your system is modular with the stock pieces for the long run.
They say 3" is the minimum for turbo engines though. I chose 3" with extra resonators to keep the exhaust note in check.

no. the only reason you'd backfire is if you were VTA and extra unburnt fuel would ignite when it got out.. straight piped..
3" would be ideal... The turbo is the restriction in the system. after that you don't want any backpressure for pure efficient performance
...sound is another story

Yup, afterfire happens when removing the cat(s) too. With my catless setup, I get occasional afterfires when jumping off the throttle at high RPM shifts (usually between 1st>2nd) but not during normal driving.
If you want a more aggressive exhaust tone with some gains then just go with an axleback. It's cheap for only $200-400 installed with tips.
If you want the most power and mpg out of your RDX then you won't be happy until you go 3". I learned the hard way and kept upgrading, wasting money. Go big or go home!

Just to clarify.. I was agreeing with BigHatch but not saying it will backfire if you go 3" piping.
I love the sound of my Magnaflow.. smooth and aggressive. The staggered wheels looks good from those angles btw.

I got it from JDM Password, they don't currently make an intake for the rdx. So I looked for the closest fitment style they had and came up with the Honda Fit JDM Dry Carbon Fiber PowerChamber Intake 07-08 Fit looked about right. With a battery relocation kit the hybrid fitment worked great!
