BC Racing Coilovers question

Hey everyone,

I love my 2007 RDX, but now have a baby in the mix, and looking to soften the suspension a bit- at least while the wife and baby are in the car!

I'm considering getting the BC Racing coilovers for a better ride but don't want to sacrifice ride height. If I go the highest setting on the BC Racing coilovers, how much height am I going to lose?

Also- will going with the BC Racing coilovers accomplish my goal: adjustable to comfortable for the wife and kid, then adjustable back to sporty for myself?

Thanks!

try some used 08 springs and new struts. they are softer and no ride height loss.

Wrench - I think I'd need to test drive an '08 to see the difference first. Does that mean you don't recommend the BC Racing coilovers to accomplish my goal? Or do you just recommend the '08 struts from a cost perspective as opposed to the BC coilovers?

If you're looking to soften the ride from the stock set up by switching to coilovers, I don't think you should expect much. Even on the highest setting I highly doubt there will be nearly as much suspension travel as stock, and coilover spring rates tend to be pretty high. I agree with Wrench to look into a later model suspension.

I have/had my rdx dropped on the bc coilovers with a newborn and hes coming up on 3...never a problem and I keep mine super stiff... not soft at all but if you want soft....get some eibachs or stay stock honestly.

Okay I'm actually going to chime in here because I did get new coilovers and they can be softer than the stock suspension and maintain stock ride height or higher. The Megan coilovers can go disappointingly soft and ridiculously stiff, they are 32-way adjustable. Now I don't have any babies rolling around in my car but I do have delicate cargo such as, wedding cakes, birthday cakes; etc.. And they always manage to make it to their destination without any deformities on the softest setting.

If you want a softer ride than factory, comfort tires are the way to go.
