reseting reminder before it turns on
reseting reminder before it turns on
I would like this time to change the oil but the reminder light didnt turn on. (got my reasons for it)
If I change the oil and reset like its normalie done when light is on, will it reset ALL reminders that will come on?? Is there a way to reset the oil reminder only?
Thanks.

Only the dealer can reset individual MID notices. The following is how I think it works, and is consistent with my observation.
Yes, resetting the 'minder' manually will also reset all current notices, although you can see them, if they are set, during the reset procedure. And will also reset the start-period for any currently set notices.
For example, assume that the notice would be a "B2", if you allowed the MID (maintenance indicator display) to go to 15% and give its notice.
If you reset the MID at 50%, and the notice is "B2", then both notices are reset. But if the notice at 50% is only a "B", then only the "B" is reset. And my assumption is that the "2" would not be set until perhaps 20%

That is why the special Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) allows resetting only those notices selected. So in the above example, it would be possible to reset only the "B" notice, without resetting the "2" notice, or any other notices currently active.
And the HDS is the only way to reset selected notices, without resetting them all.

What I do not know, because I have never checked, is in the above example, is when the "2" would be set. That is, at what oil life percentage between 100-15% would the "2" notice be set.
I only know that when I normally change the oil at around 20%, before the MID gives the notice "SERVICE REQUIRED NOW", that there is often more than one notice set.
My Owner's Manual makes the above very clear, that resetting the MID manually resets all current notices, and that it is your responsibility to note this.
Does no one read the OM?
