Question how to remove antenna?

hi guys,

am taking my rdx (bought 2 wks ago) to the car wash next weekend... just wondering if/how i should remove the rdx black antenna to ensure it doesnt get bent/removed fm its socket when i go to a touchless/brushless carwash?

thanks

I think it just un-screws... I've never had problems with the soft brush or true touchless.

Yeah, I've got a spare from my service center (for whatever reason) and it has threads at the bottom. So it screws-in. If you break that one, you can have mine for a nominal fee. :P

I unscrewed mine and just left it that way. No issue with reception.

I would suggest that you either tape up that hole or blow it out after bath-time, just so you don't get damage from that carwash water sitting in there.

good point! darn forgot to do that... ill unscrew the antenna later and try to cotton bud it till it dries... i couldnt see the bottom of that small hole, is that hole hollow and goes direct to the metal sheet roof? or is the base rubberized?

ok, checked it just a few hours ago... the hole underneath the antenna is sealed (doesnt penetrate and wont even hit the roof of the car)... and it was already dry so i guess the dryers worked well in my car wash ... thanks for the insights guys... learning a lot about the new car...

If the base is loose you'll need to pull the headliner down a bit to reach between.
