Has anyone had to replace theirs? Where would one come across said replacement?

I haven't, but I suspect you're having the same issue that plagues these... the leather is coming up and/or tearing? If so, you're in luck. This is on my to-do list since the part is inexpensive and the job is really easy.

Opps. I started a new thread before I realized you started one. 737Jock has a write-up on replacing the entire lid assy. I just need to know how to separate the padded piece from the lid since there is an eBay vendor that sells a new replacement padded piece but doesn't incl instructions.
