When will the new Nav Version be out?

I'm wondering if I should order this 4.81 while the price is "only" $149, or if they have lowered the price in anticipation of a new release?

Is there a usual time of year for an udate?

Also, is it likely that some new update will include uploading addressbook info and Nav routing information via bluetooth or USB?

Usually Oct/Nov, and unlikely. In the 4 years that I've had my RDX, they've NEVER added new features - other than the Daylight Savings Time date option.

Having upgraded from 4.56 to 4.62 (2008), there are a couple of notable items:

- Added one way street arrows at the highest zoom level
- Removed male navigation voice (to save space? seriously?!)
- The backup camera comes on quicker (probably the same as the free patch)

Other than that, not much else feature updates. I'm guessing 4.81 doesn't offer squat for new features either...

I wouldn't think of it as getting nothing for the money. The annual Navi updates are supposed to be for map and POI updates. How pertinent those updates are for your area are certainly questionable (especially since Navteq don't fully describe the changes).

New features are probably not something they throw in with each release. However, I do think the one-way street display added in 4.62 is a worthwhile feature update. In a city like Boston, it's quite useful.

I'm guessing you mean you have the 2010 version. At this point the 'new' version will be the 2011 update, and if Alpine stays somewhat true to form, won't be out until the fall.

Yes, that's what I understand too. No news yet on what it will be called.

A friend lives in Delaware where there have been many new Developments and streets, and will update if there are promises of recent (2009-10) Streets added to the database.

I'll update if there are plenty of updates in Florida and up the east coast to Maine.

I'd like to keep the male voice as an option too.

The male voice was deleted a few updates back. I wouldn't get your hopes up.
