My last car was a '00 Audi with Nav and I named it "Jane" as in "Help! Jane! Stop this crazy thing!" (Jetsons opening credits) or "Jane, you ignorant ..." (SNL point/counterpoint).

When I first got my RDX Tech I showed a friend (familiar with the name of my Audi's Nav) that you could change the voice from female to male. He politely petted the dashboard and said "Pat" (SNL androgeny skit) - and that's been its name ever since...

BTW, to find nearby starbucks use "Place -> Category -> choose a category -> choose "All mumbles" from subcategory menu -> By Keyword -> Sorted by distance" and then type the name "Starb" should give you the closest starbucks. It's how they've implemented access to their "fuzzy search", but it isn't intuitive from the way the menus are designed...

Mine is named Christine - after the evil car in the Stephen King novel. Why? because she is frequently wrong, gives me odd directions, and usually can't find what I'm looking for. Using the Navi system is sometimes cruel and torturous.

You probably have the Canadian version of the navigation. It pisses me off when it defaults to freaking American addresses when you search businesses by name. It's completely useless in Canada.
