V1 hard wire into mirror?

Has anyone hardwire their V1 radar into the auto dimming mirror or use a 12V power in the over head console . I was looking at using the BlendMount with the hardwire.

Just did that in my other car. Stealth cords makes it very easy for about $8.

If you google stealth cords it should be your first result. Once on their site, just click on valentine one.

If you mention NAGTROC during checkout, you will get 15% off. It is 12.95 before the discount.

just bought stealth cord, unless you like your radar detector on the drivers side right next ot your mirror ( i mean practically behind) then get a longer cord than 8in, its actually a little smaller than you think. HOWEVER, i did find a good spot to mount it and the +12 pos (red) wire goes in the same slot as the mirror wire closest to the passenger side the ground goes in the socket between the two mirror wires, i tried putting it in the same socket as the mirror ground and every time i switched gears (P->R or D) it would cycle the power, which i found interesting. Works wonderfully I'll post a picture as soon as i get my camera back in a couple days. PM me if you have any questions.

Sorry, should have mentioned there is a great bracket that attaches to the back of your rearview mirror to use with the stealth, I will try to get a link.

mount looks neat, but i have a feeling that after enough times pushing the mute button the mirror will either A)keep moving, or B) the mount will eventually start to bend down, i have it just top left of the mirror with an 8" cord, get camera back tomorrow i'll post pics.

Question about the Stealth Cord for my Escort 8500 X50. I don't think the stealth cord comes with a fuse. Won't it damage the radar if there is a short? Thanks in advance for any input to my concerns.

You are tapping into wiring that is already fuse protected.

mirror mount

Just got a great mirror mount on Ebay for $31 with free shipping (made an offer). It's from a company called Performance Packaging. They have a separate website too. Mount is all metal, except the V1 clip which is included, and very high quality. Easy to install and adjust. Looks great. Here's one of their pics:
