Question Sub woofer not woofing

I have a 2008 RDX. Suddenly the stereo system has gone "tinny" and quiet. We think the sub woofer has stopped working. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

Not as of yet. I'd take it in and the dealer will take care of it.

I'm experiencing low subwoofer output as well

Eilidh - I'm curious to see if you've made any headway on this problem. I have a 2009 RDX. Even with the subwoofer set to max I have low bass output. Very disappointing, especially compared with the output on my 2004 TL. I'm due for my first maintenance, so I'll ask the dealer to take a listen.

Anyone get their audio problem fixed? I have a 2009 RDX and my sub is pretty weak too...The lows aren't really there. I'm wondering if the sound system is too weak to push everything by itself...maybe a seperate sub?

I don't have an update on my status. I did have it in for a scheduled oil change and asked about the weak bass output. Of course they (the dealer) said that there isn't a problem.

Is it weak NOW, or has it always seemed weak?
Best way to test if there is ANYTHING coming out is put a song with bass and then use the stock headunit to turn the bass from -6 to "OFF" and see if there is ANY difference in the bass response.

I have a base 2008 RDX and the sub-bass shakes the car with a heavy bass song! I have the lows set to +2 and the sub set to +3. Any higher and it's too much. There must be something wrong if you have little or no bass. My stock system (non-tech) really kicks the bass.

I love the non-tech stock system and all, but I had to throw my own kit in there. Hah.

It's a fatty kit. It'd probably be better to call it a full setup rather than a kit. I basically have two 12" with a 2000watt amp:
Power Acoustik TS1920-2 Two Channel 1920W with plasma sphere built in
Two 12" Kenwood KFC-W3010 1000W 4-Ohm Subwoofers

ya, pics would be great when you get a break from the rain. Did you also do anything with your head unit or keep the stock?

The basic setup was keep everything stock and just tap into the stock sub. I didn't have much of a budget but it still packs a punch for only 600 bucks.

Hey,
Sorry for the guys who want pics of my system. Been busy with classes. Hopefully this weekend I'll take pics when I turn the subs around so they fire forward. Less vibration on the back door, more power to the front. Since the RDX is a single cabin, should sound the same either or.

Yea, I thought about it, but that's the point of having the "privacy" rear deck lid. I don't want random people looking into my car and get the idea of copping my system. I feel you though, it does sound better if I take it off, but for the normal I just leave it on.

My parents live close to the University of Oregon campus. During an overnight visit I left a zip-up HD black park blanket in the back seat of the RDX. The next morning I came out to find the blanket w/handle on the ground next to the car with a broken window. Apparently, due to its similarity to a 17” lap-top sleeve, someone thought they had found a free lap-top in the back of my RDX.
You should NEVER keep anything of value, even if it looks like it might be, in your car.
