Playing music through bluetooth audio

Hi,

I have a 2010 RDX base model(no nav) and I paired up my iPhone 3G through bluetooth. Is there anyway I can play music through car stereo without actually pressing the play button on the iPhone?

1. Have the phone in your pocket and get into the car.
2. Phone pairs up with the bluetooth in car after turning on.
3. Music system awaits a command from phone to start playing the music.
4. Is there any button on the base model to start off the music on the phone without actually taking out the phone and pressing play?

My old car's after market stereo(Pioneer) had a function button that would let me play/pause the music over bluetooth. Is there such an option in 2010 basic RDX model?

If I have to remove the phone from my pocket, I would actually go ahead and plug it to the USB port so that it would even get charged, instead of using bluetooth audio...

I think there is a way, I'm just unsure how to do it. When we picked up our 2010(base) I remember the guy explaining this to us.

I am not at all an expert in Bluetooth audio, but just from using Bluetooth connectivity for phone calls I have two questions. First, isn't the battery on your iPod going to drain like mad? And second, isn't the sound quality going to be pretty poor?

I got a 2010 RDX (AWD) base and use 3Gs bluetooth to play music.
After the phone is paired with car bluetooth, turn on the audio and use the mode button on the wheel to switch until bluetooth audio is selected. It starts playing continuously (songs from the list or albums). Problem is, you have to go to iPhone, to skip the song or go to next song or so.... controlls in the car doesn't work.

But, when i connect iPhone via USB cable, everything works fine...like, next song, change albums....etc

And making calls with Car Bluetooth is not good. Becoz, i hear lot of road noise and engine noise, which seem to be common for RDX and others can't hear my voice properly, instead they hear lot of side noise.

So, Bluetooth HFL is not much of use..... due to noise.

I spent a few days with the 2010 RDX (as a loaner) and the Channel up/down button worked for skipping to the next/previous song using Bluetooth. I have an HTC WinMo phone so perhaps it's an iPhone problem? The BT audio sounds great and I miss it!

As for the HLF, the mic is up near the rear mirror. I tend to talk softly so when using the HLF, I have to be conscious about speaking towards the mic.

Are you referring to Bluetooth audio? Then no, only 2010 has the BT audio (along with the usb audio input)

Bluetooth Upgrade?

I realize this is an old post but thought it would resurrect it. I too have a 2007 RDX and you can only use the Bluetooth for phone calls. I am wondering if there is a way to upgrade the Bluetooth version in the car which may then allow you to use your phone for audio and phone calls. Seems theoretically doable but what do I know?
