Can You Roll Down Windows With Remote?

I bought an 07 RDX w/ Tech Package back in March and have had numerous fellow Honda owners ask if I can roll the windows down by pushing the unlock button twice and holding it down the second time... Some of the Hondas (even dating back to 2005) now have this neat feature, but I havent' been able to replicate it on mine... Was this not an option on the RDX, or is it something I can program in my remote to do? IT's not that big a deal, this has just sparked my curiosity... It's just possibly another cool toy to add to the list of surround sound and voice activated controls to show the friends - you know, they're pointless, but fun to show-off!

Lots of threads on this already. Some people hate it, some people love it.

Sorry, I just didn't look far enough to see those other threads... well at least that gives me some closure on the subject. Thanks for the replies!

I've got an 04 TL and 04 Accord, both have the remote all windows down feature. Sadly my 08 RDX doesn't have it. Acura decided not to put it on the RDX. ??? Don't know why, it was initially advertised as a feature it would have, but then NADA.
I am sure they had some corporate reason why.

I've tried and tried to get my remote to roll down the windows (had this feature w/ my last car) and unfortunately I'm assuming the '07 RDX does not have this feature (esp. after reading thru these threads).

Unfortunately, you are absolutely right. Neither 08 or the 09 have this feature. This i know. But I don't know if the 1010 model has it. I don't think it has it and I don't know what Acura was think of when they decided not to include it in the RDX.

They were thinking of me. I hate that stupid feature. I'm constantly rolling down the windows on my wife's Accord because I pressed the button one too many times. Sucks when it's raining - because you CAN'T roll them all back up the same way! Thank you Acura!

I got a 2010 rdx as a loaner car during the regular maintenace service last week and I tried to see if it can roll down the window with the remote. Unfortunately it can't.

Mike, Man sorry bout that but you must not live in San Antonio Texas where most of the year and the summers the temperature often hits triple digits for months. An nobody wants to get into a car thats over 100 degrees inside and then have to roll down the windows to try to cool it off. I am sure you would appreciate that, and it does rain in San Antonio, I just make it a practice not to hold the dang button down so long. I guess that feature is for people who know how to use it.

Regards, Eddie

I would have been fine with the feature if they had provided the ability to put them back up with the lock button. On the Accord, if you're not sure if the back doors unlocked with the second press, pressing it just one too many times starts the windows rolling down. Even if you just press the button quickly, they still go down far enough for rain to start coming in.

You can throw all the insults you want. In the end, my RDX still doesn't have it, and that's the way I want it.

Mike,
Not meant to be an insult sorry if you took it that way. Just meant to be friendly bantor between guys. Understand your reasons and its your right to feel that way. But let's agree to disagree. :surrender
: I have an 04 Accord that my 19 year old daughter has been using for the last two years. She hasn't encountered the problem you have with the windows rolling down. Granted; not a whole lot of rain down here in San Antonio; but when it does it pours.
My solution!: Gave the RDX to the wife to use and got myself the TL. Now I have the feature and I do use it on those very hot days. I will eventually trade-in the RDX and guess I will be more carefull not to buy another Acura model that doesn't have the roll down feature.
I wonder if they are taking that feature off any of the other new Acuras? Would be interesting to know if the ZDX has it.

Cheers, Eddie

Fair enough. Differing opinions are what make life interesting...

I'm not sure what Acura is planning in the future, but it sure would be nice if they would implement both ideas - down with unlock, up with lock. Then we'd both be happy. I don't understand the one directional thing...

The new system requires that you quickly depress the unlock button then press and hold. i'm not sure about the RDX {only been here a week still going through certification}, But i can run out on the lot and check one out real quick .

Doesn't open windows in '11 either. Too bad. Was nice feature in MDX, although it's true that windows would start to open even when button wasn't held especially long time.

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE CLARIFICATION! I thought I bought a faulty 2011 RDX! I was about to complain to the dealer, I thought they were lying to me.

Happy Driving!
