Trying to update the nav system. Bought the discs. Got conflicting info as to the location of the nav dvd.
Last night found a tread that stsaed to dvd was located behind a panel on the console, passenger side.
Finally got panel removed. There is a module that may be a dvd player. There is a metal plate on the end held on with 4 small phillips type screws.
Tried every screwdriver I have and cannot loosen 3 of the 4 screws.
Before I go medevil with the Dremel, I would like some conformation that this is indeed the correct device to attack. Please refer to photo.
Thanks for all you guys/gals for the help.
This needs to me moved so someone with the same generation "RDX" can help you locate the navigation DVD drive. The one photographed is not it do not remove the screws or "dremel" it. The location for the navigation unit disc drive you are speaking of is for my 2009 RDX. I'm not sure where yours is located. Do not put it in the DVD music slot that will not work.
On my 2017 RDX Tech, the nav update discs does indeed use the "music" DVD on the front panel.
The DVD is NOT inside the center console on this model as I had pictured.
The update is loaded onto the hard disc drive.
Thanks for everybodies help, I did get the update installed.
