Hey All,

New to the forums. I was wondering if anyone has successfully replaced the stock radio with a double din radio? Just got this car for the wife and the worst part is the navigation/menus. looks 9 years old! lol

quick glance at crutchfield suggests that we do not replace the radio....

switching over to a double din that has android auto/ car play and retaining the backup camera and steering wheel controls would be ideal. Has anyone done this?

 

A 'switchover' to a double din would be next to impossible due to the fact that the factory stereo is so integrated with a whole lot of systems.
A couple people have went and added other devices mounted in various locations that were integrated with the factory system.
A search of the forum should find the threads

 

Definitely can't do a switchover as the screen shows the AC, heat, etc as well as the radio station.
I was thinking of removing the CD player (6 disk changer) and fitting a single din or removable face radio but then I'd also have to tap into every wire (speakers, ground, etc)
I've been looking for other options also & only saw this here.
Maybe someone can post some links here from other threads.

All I have seen is the people on this forum that have added a mounted tablet as stated before in a previous post sorry

 

A mounted tablet? Why, do they stream cause I can't bluetooth it to the radio. I have this bluetooth adapter connected to the aux plug then i turn aux on the factory to listed to YouTube & Sirius XM.
