I've had various issues with the stereo but after I replaced the battery a few months ago it's been working great - up to about a week ago. When I first get in the car and turn on the ignition, the stereo makes a nasty, loud POP or CLUNK sound over the speakers. Often at the same time, there's static for the first few seconds of turning the stereo on. It's like there's a certain amount of static built up in the system and it needs to be purged over a few seconds. Two points I should mention: I always listen to my iphone over a 3rd party Bluetooth add-on, and I almost always plug the charging cable into the phone.

I haven't found anything directly on point for the Gen1 RDX. It seems like a faulty ground wire could be the culprit, at least for the pop, but I'm not sure how to test that with this vehicle.
