You should ignore that poster. She obviously feels bad about her purchase and feels a need to come here and provoke you guys as a result. However, if you must interact with her, please refer to her with her true name - "troll." We should all agree never to refer to her with any other name.

She is right, btw, that Acura set 40,000 as a goal. But, that was never a reasonable target in that class. The FX35, X3, and LR2 all sold in lower numbers. Infiniti is projecting about 25,000 for the X3.

And, right now, any car that gets poor MPG is going to be a relatively hard sell with gas prices this high. My feeling with the RDX, even if Honda eventually puts a V6 in it (which is not likely because, as noted above, Honda did not invest the money in the CRV platform that would have been necessary to accomodate a V6), that it will never be a big seller. The upscale compact SUV market is a niche thing

In the meantime, I do not see any evidence that Acura is even considering killing the RDX. If anything Acura has to be fairly pleased with recent sales:

The MDX and RDX are basically carrying Acura right now, with RL sales in the can, and the TSX and TL both approaching redesign.

RDXON - I'm curious about what your concerns are regarding paint quality. The paint quality on my TSX is fairly nice, as it was on my previous Honda products. That may well have changed, because of attempts to make the entire process more environmentally friendly (and cut down on VOCs).

What does this prove?

Nothing.

Still, Acura set the goal for 40K units and is failing to hit that mark.

Don't think for Acura, and don't give thought up excuses for them.

Paint quality is a problem for Acura's(TSX and RDX included), they're tons of threads on it.

I wasn't provoking anyone, but since you said I was, I guess I was?

Isn't this a ashamed, a 45 Year Old can't tell the difference from a Male and a Female, poor thing, you're so ignorant. Go sit by the mail box Wait for that AARP card, you're going to need it.

The MPG is not that big of a problem smart one, the Idea of a 4 Cyl engine being the only option in a 33K+ SUV IS.

I have a TSX. It has excellent paint quality. My girlfriend has a TL, it also has excellent paint quality. Given that detailing has been a hobby of mine, I think I would probably have found problems in the paint if they were there.

In fact, every Honda we've owned has excellent paint quality. Now, that may well have changed, because Honda and others have had to change their paint procedures because of new rules controlling VOCs. But, I'd like to hear about that from RDX owners. What you think of the RDX paint quality is of little interest to any of us. Its not like you have any real first hand experience with Acura products.

And, I could debate with you about the sales levels for the Acura RDX. But, that is rather besides the point. This is a thread for RDX owners to talk about whether or not they would purchase the vehicle again. And, for posters like me, who have not made our final choice yet, this is very valuable information.

So, instead of trying to be a troll again, and disrupting the entire thread with your anti-RDX tirades (which we all recognize as transparent attempts to make yourself feel better about your POS Mazda) why don't let everybody here actually have an informed discussion?

You don't own a RDX. This thread is for those of us who might want to buy one getting information from the informed owners on this forum. What possible reason could you have for posting here, other than another your attempts to start childish flame wars?

You have a lot of growing up to do, young lady.

Right.

YOU don't own an RDX either.

Go buy one.

Paint quality is a problem for Acura's.

Maybe you're sight is gone to old age but use the search feature and you will find threads about thin paint that chips very easily.

I said something that pertained to what someone else said about someone liking their V6 in their RAV4 more, of course this is non sense in your fan boy eyes.

The T4 offering in the RDX is a problem and is the reason why lots won't buy one, or buy another until Acura Sticks a V6 in it, the person that bought the V6 RAV4 would have to agree.

Acura's paint that is just so excellent, you cannot understand why someone would be experiencing poor paint quality, so you doubt them, wtf kind of BS is that, fan girl?

Like anyone should be listening to a hippocrate like yourself, you responded to what I said with some blown up response just to try (and fail) to insult me.

Look at how you put a sub luxury brand above Acura, when in reality, Acura "Aint" all that great, MAZDA however! IS.

Listen chick, before this thread goes COMPLETELY off topic why don't you stop now, and save this thread.

I am on my 4th Acura. Never had a complaint with paint quality.

AP, from the frequency and length of your posts on a site devoted to a car that you don't even own (but is in the same market segment as several of your vehicles) it's quite obvious you have deep rooted feelings of auto-inadequacy. I tune in every couple of days just to witness the lengths you will go to to try to fill the gaping black hole in your life that is so obvious to anybody that bothers to read your posts.

Please, refute, elaborate, whatever. I could use the laugh.

Joe, do yourself a favor and don't assume that the reason I post is because I need to justify my purchase(couldn't be further from the truth), because you are wrong.
My motive to post here is unknown, but you can keep guessing.

I've never had a paint quality complaint either. I do agree with Rdxon that the paint quality is not better than a typical Honda. But, I guess I don't see that as a bad thing since my Hondas all had good paint quality. We had an Audi, a Beemer, and two M-B's during the period that I owned Hondas, and I never thought that any of them had nicer finishes.

BUT, I am not going to presume that paint quality issues are not there for the RDX. So, if you are in the neighborhood again, RDXon, I'd love to hear more about what it is you don't like about the paint.

For those who have had their RDX's for a year now, if given the chance would you purchase another one? Why or why not?

Wayne
Could we please get back to the original posters question, which was to the people that had purchase the RDX.

Not to sound mean or anything, but if you did not purchase the RDX you really should not be commenting on this thread.

Do to the fact that we as owners, really know the pro's and cons of the RDX more than people (and magazines for that matter) who have test drove the car once or twice.

There are plenty of other threads were you can comment weather you like the RDX or not.
That is just my

I did answer the question already (post 19). Once again he was just asking owners a question (which I am), so unless you are an owner (which you are not) your on the the subject does not mean squat.

Well, I've only had mine for three days, but the answer is an emphatic "yes."

Why are so many people complaining about lack of memory seats? The RDX does have memory seats.

The 08 has a driver memory powered seat, the rider still has to use their own muscles to move their seat.

There is a very nice coin holder rig underneath the console lid. Mine is stuffed, makes no noise and hasn't dropped any coins.

I traded an 06 TL 6MT and an Element for the RDX - no regrets, no looking back, and I'd do it again

It would be a tough call. I can't see any other CUV I would get. I don't love the RDX like I did my TSX. It has it's ups and downs.

not in canada

the canadian price is still atrocious. there is no excuse for it. and you can no longer drive the american one in canada because of the lack of a CANADIAN ONLY STANDARD IMMOBILIZER.

Oh heaves YES!!!

I have had my RDXturbo since April 2007 and have a little over 10k miles on it. I have had a 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T, and a 2000 Honda Cr-V (both used). The RDX is my first new car that I purchased myself and personally the largest investment I have made in my life to date. That being said I did my research for many months before I purchased the Acura, and could be happier. It is definetly the best deal out there and a great overall product. It gives me everything I need and then some; It has enough pep in its step to hush many sports sedans and coupes, and still enough cargo room for all my friends, my cat, plus some laundry. It is no suprise to me that the RDX is such a hit, Acura hit this nail right on the head and the best part it it can only get better!

Doubtful. I tend to drive my veh. for 5-8 years so when I'm ready for a new one, my requirements and desires will likely have changed.
