Wood trim interior
My dealer had it on a few of the models on the lot. I looked at it and to me it looked like exactly what it was....cheap plastic inserts. They are flat/satin finished, and fairly dark. It wasn't 'bad' looking, but it didn't look like real wood either - and I think the price is unreasonably high for couple of pieces of plastic. I prefer the standard carbon fiber/silver look.

Not the best stuff
Here it is in all its glory.
After it was installed, I told the dealer it definitely did not look like what was in the accessories brochure. Also, we had an 04 MDX and I was expecting something close to that trim.
The dealer did offer to remove it and refund my money, but I opted to live with it for a while.

Actually those pics make it look quite good! Very different from my experience seeing it in person. So gmann, if you're considering it, I'd HIGHLY suggest finding a dealer that has it in stock and looking for yourself...

The part that I dislike is how the silver trim is still there for the vertical slats around the Navigation display. To my eye, it's like when you mix silver and gold or when you wear brown shoes and a black belt. It's not that I dislike the wood trim itself though.

Also it looks like there is some silver between the end of the wood grain piece and the vertical slat around the Nav screen - as if the piece was not sized properly...?
Also, how thin is the cosmetic layer - is scratching a problem? The pictures show some specks and I'm not sure if they are dust, CCD camera gremlins, or scratches...
I wonder if a nice detail or body shop couldn't coat the pieces in something that would improve the look. They look quite 'flat' but most wood trim pieces have a very thick glossy coating on them that might improve their look (and durability).

There is no gap at the end of panel, what you are seeing is a reflection.
And that is dust that you see, comes from the close-up shots and me not cleaning prior to the having the model pose for the picture session.
What I did not like about the panel was that is has a real flat look to it. These pictures are taken in bright daytime lighting. The panels at night look dull brown with no grain to them at all.
I hesitate having them coated and would rather wait to see what the traditional after-market wood dash makers can come up with. Then I will go back to my dealer and have them removed and provide a refund like they stated they would do for me.
