The what have you taken down with your 1G rdx thread

Hello!

So this is a thread where you can mention what you took down with your rdx. This isn't intended to get people to illegally race on city streets. But we all know that at some point or another we have engaged in a little hooning around.

I thought to start this thread because I annihalated an is250 f-sport earlier. Completely ruined him. Its some deucy looking guy who is in the far right lane decides to switch in front of me in the middle lane as I roll up onto the light. So I took the far right lane and proceeded to completely destory him. He wasn't expecting it, he accelerated hard, the rdx easily walked away. I wish I could have seen his face, he thought he had a "fast car" lmao.

We never agreed to race before the light turned green, however he was definitely trying to beat me. The one thing that sucked is that I kept traction control on (totally forgot) and it took a second to bite.

First you complained about how the RDX gave you back problem and now you're here bragging about 'winning' a street race. Idiotic!!!

Thanks for your input and stalking my threads! I appreciate how you think your opinion matters to me or your opinion of me holds an atoms weight of worth with me.

Please carry on.

I assume this is the Lexus IS 250 that you are speaking about. That's the one with the 2.5 L engine with 204HP and 185 lb-ft of torque?

Doesn't the 1G RDX have 240 HP and 260 lb-ft of torque?

There really wasn't much doubt that you could out accelerate the Lexus. Especially since you should have a greater advantage in less wheel-spin due to the 4wd.

Yup a 2015 lexus IS, they come awd though so I didn't have the awd advantage. Also you gotta remember his car weighs quite a bit less than ours. About 600 pounds less and being a low car means he has less drag then us. Also he might have an 8 speed tranny so better gearing. Really he probably should have taken me but I guess the turbo beats the odds lol.

Also its not so much about beating an is250 (those are crap cars) just that the guy thought he had an f-sport model and thought he was fast. If it was an is350....I would have eaten his brake dust most likely.

Believe it or not I beat a 5.7 GTO to 65mph the other night in our RDX. He was definitely trying and that car on paper should be faster so I don't know what happened. Maybe his girlfriend in the passenger seat was fat or something, his tint was pretty dark :p

Hahah sweet! Depends on your altitiude as well, turbos suffer almost zero lag. Sometimes on paper things should seem so much faster but they aren't. Btw thanks for being on topic, Finally someone who's actually playing along, I don't know who pissed in kingkongs cheerios, he keeps posting on my threads and talking like someone with a negative value IQ.

Now if I could travel back in time with my RDX to 1966 Sonoma, California high school I could not only knock off the fastest car(64GTO), but it would be quieter, better sound system and better gas mileage. The big question would be: do chicks in 1966 dig it?

So far my best take down was a bmw x5m at the new years hangover race at my local eighth mile track. No brake boost just put the hammer down and held on for the ride

Seriously an x5m? How? Those things are close to 4 seconds to 60. For real?

Lack of driver skill my best guess. Caught a perfect light and didnt look back. I know for sure damn well he was right on me. I mean literally a fender. Looking over causes distractions so i just keep my eyesnon the finish line.

Hey I beleive you! Just crazy to me that an x5M would be done in by an RDX. Damn cool too! I know I surprise a lot of ricer civics off the line. It is a shame that I need to sell mine. Its also a shame that there aren't simple plug and play tunes like the germans have.

Sweet! Please post a video if you can. It would be cool to see just how well the rdx can compete. I don't expect it to keep up, but I think it might get the lead for the first 20-30 feet and then the mustang will dominate.

No offence but this "post your brags" thread reminds me of the old days on HondaAcura.net or PreludePower.com. List all the cars you beat.

Yes a Prelude base 5sp will beat a mustang gt. An inline 4 vs v8.

Posts from way back...around '99-2000...yawn...sorry, I dozed off there.

Playing at a light may be fun, but is it a race if the other person is not in on it?

Getting the jump on someone at a stop light who is caught unaware that they are in a race?

Someone with a clearly better power to wt ratio? Is that the same as beating them in a race? Not so sure.

1/4 mi time slips are truth. No brag, just fact.

This isn't a "post your brags" thread. This is a thread where people can post what they have beaten. I am not looking at any members here who posted with envy or jealousy. Just prouder of the rdx.

The other person was in on it in my case. He was trying to beat me. He accelerated hard, it wasn't like I got the lead and then he caught up. No we were neck and neck then I beat him till I had to turn.

You are free to choose what you like as being a race or winning or competition...etc. I just like reading about peoples experiences and what they beat. As for power to weight ratio, sometimes what you expect isn't the turn out which is what makes it interesting and fun to me.

I appreciate your input. Thanks.

Sorry. I thought brag meant boastful talk or behavior?

As in to speak of (one's own achievements, possessions, etc) boastfully.

As in "what have you taken down"...

And thank you for freeing me to choose to see the difference between stop light racing and racing.

There is a difference between "look what I did" and "I did this" if that makes sense. We can agree to disagree.

Yea, Im thinking most of these "wins" were unaware opponents. The RDX is by no means a quick vehicle. Above 80 or so and it pulls quite well...but its a porky lil 4 cylinder.
Just saying.

wow well done man!

No the R32 is actually a rather deadly little beast. I am surprised you beat it! Yeah unfortunately the rdx runs out of steam up top. Highway pulls already going 100kms don't yield much

Muscle car acceleration? By no means, but have you driven the average 4cyl SUV/CUV?

Seriously! Have you even driven other turbo 4-cylinders? The rdx is heavy, but it is not slow. Just a few years before it came out massive v8's were used to get suvs this fast.

Is your rdx gold or white? I live that gold color on the 1G.5 rdx.

Say hello to that^ Lamborghini Huracan LP 610 4

AWD 5.2L V10 602 HP 3135 lbs $235,000

Thankfully Geary has a stoplight every block. The exhaust note was amazing.

Personally not a big fan of the hurracan, I don't know why though, just don't. But I totally hear you on that exhaust note, pure bliss. I do really like the bentley continental GT, the mclaren P1, porsche 918, and even the new NSX though. With P1 being my favorite.

I am still young right now, still in the fetal stage of business development, so it will take a lot of time, luck, and success to even be thinking about these cars in the future.

Power to wt ratio comparison shows what a slouch that Lamb is...

Chev ZO6 6.2L- 5.4lbs per hp

Lamb LP 610 4- 5.2lbs per hp

Airel Atom 3.5R- 4lbs per hp

;]...so not only is it strange looking, it's also apparently slow!

Any of them would be epically scary to drive

As is the case for most lambos in my experience, a lot of fluff and a lot of green to buy. But definitely would not turn down the opportunity to get behing the wheel of one.
