I purchased Continental DWS 06 to replace the OE Michelin's. After the first winter, albeit a milder one for NE Ohio, I'm pleased with them. I'm also satisfied with the dry traction/handling.

I got the same set a few months back. They replaced the yokohama parada spec-x, which ate up a lot rubber rather quickly. I'm hoping these DWS can last and perform well after all the good review.

I've been using the previous versions of the Conti DWS. On my 3rd set now on my RDX and have them on my TSX (2 sets) and MDX (1st set) also because I like them so much. I missed trying out the Conti DWS 06 on my RDX by a few months. My daughter just switched from Conti DWS to the Conti DWS 06 on her Mazda 3 5dr hatch and loves them.

The Conti DWS 06 is a top performer if you want a jack of all trades tire. I don't want to go with a summer/winter set because the weather/temperatures varies widely and it is usually at/below freezing in the morning and mostly sunny/dry/warm by the afternoons in the southwestern winters. I've had no issues with snow, icy roads, slushy conditions, heavy rains, wet roads, freezing temps, rain, standing water, and hot +120 degree roads with these tires (all that can happen in a day in the southwest). Took a trip from ABQ, Flagstaff, and Phoenix on March 18th and the temps varied from 25-90 degrees in the 6 1/2 hr drive. A winter or summer tire wouldn't been as good at either opposite extremes; while the Conti DWS did very well with zero issues.

I will be ready to go to my 2nd set of Conti DWS on my MDX before next winter and I am looking forward to trying the 06 out.

I've used the old DWS on our 09 RDX and our 06 TSX with great results as far as handling goes. Mileage has not been great with 30-35K miles, but the dealer says that's quite common and nobody hits the 50k mile mark on them. The new DWS 06 are on the RDX now with about 8k miles on them. I like them more than the last version. So far it looks like I'll get closer to 40k mil out of them. Traction is as good or better. Corners feel a bit more firmer than the old version. I really like the free alignment built into the tread. I'm getting ready to order another set for the TSX next month when they go on sale again. For the price, I don't think you can beat them.

I agree with mrgold. For Boise you must have a tire able to change seasons from morning to night. Some may say the DWS has issues but for what we need them for, they are the best option.

I have not used them personally. But from spending a lot of time on different forums. I have read many complaints about these tires. Ranging from odd wear pattern, to harder than normal ride, to wearing out very fast.

I originally was going to buy a set for a past vehicle but the great amount of negative experiences pushed me away.

If you are thinking of getting the DWS, much better to consider the newer dws-06 as these tires have better sidewalls based on reviews.

I have the pilot sport as3's for summer use and blizzaks for winter. I got them last spring and ran them for the summer I was extremely impressed I can't wait to swap back to them in the next week or two.

I've only drove on snow and ice once on the as3's but they were adequate for getting around but didn't compare to the blizzaks.
But for steering feel. Immediate steering inputs. Dry grip and wet grip the as3's are awesome. No uneven wear. In fact they barely show signs of use.

Tire rack's review of them is bang on and they delivered on every claim they made. I was really hesitant because I wasn't much of a fan of michelin tires but these have changed my mind.

With winter tires on I can get the rdx to break traction on the front tires and on wet roads can get sideways breaking traction on all 4 tires under power. But with the as3's I can't break traction at all. Wet or dry it won't happen. No drifting fun unless on gravel.

AS3 is one of the best performing all-season tires you can buy, but they have relatively low treadlife (for an all-season). You *might* get 40k out of them, compared to the 60+ you get from most others, but that is the trade-off for the performance they offer.

I really don't care how long they last. They perform as promised. And I prefer performance over tread wear any day.
