Question Vote (Interior - - )

Here's a good poll...what's your pick for the interior of your car (someone talked about this issue in another post - seems interesting):

- Black leather
- Tan leather

If you've got some specific reasons for your choice, please post them up.

Thanks!!

My vote is for black

It does hide dirt and stains better and I think it adds some edge/sleekness to the interior. The heat in the summer doesn't bug me so much. We have black leather in the family MDX and a windshield cover on those hot summer days does a lot to keep the interior from becoming a sauna.

The taupe/tan of the RDX IS nice though...much better than the beige/tan I see in other luxury cars. It fitted very nicely with the white RDX I checked out. Not sure if it can withstand multiple Coke stains though....

The last time I had a black interior, it fellt like stepping into a blast furnace if the car had been sitting out in the sun for a few hours.

My current car has a black interior and it is pretty unbearable in the summer even with the windowshade. So, I'm going for the taupe this time. We don't have any kids so hopefully my husband and I can manage to keep it clean

Black...on this one

My last 3 cars have had black interiors....all of them have been almost a dark gray instead of a deep black. That's seems to be how black turns out...

My parents car has the light tan leather interior and my nieces and nephews (4-11 years of age) leave their marks ALL over it...and that's only when they visit! They usually ride in my car much more frequently than mine.

I've got dogs and while they usually ride in their crates, sometimes they are in the seats.

Also, just normal wear and tear can leave marks between cleaning - sacks, grocery bags, laptop bag, etc.

While my first car with the black leather interior could get kind of hot, the ones since haven't been bad because they have all had the tinted windows and the windows that blocked out much of the sun rays.

I actually considered the light tan interior, but I didn't like how the color on the door seemed so different form the seats - two toned taupe, and how the dash had a lot of black on it...too much color for my preference. If it had been more seemless, I probably would have tried the taupe interior with the blue exterior because I really liked the blue color.

I ended up going with the red exterior and the black interior.

Yeah, but you're in Seattle - when do you ever see the sun?

I voted Black. I think it looks much better, richer. The "tan" type interiors generally seem to age poorly, IMHO, although they do look nice when they are new.

Actually, we've had sun ALL SUMMER!!! And very little rain this year - my water bill proves it! We've had at least 4-5 months of sun this year for the summer!

We get some pretty warm weather out here during the summer...just ask all those people that scrambled for AC window units this summer!

I'd go with black. It looks more upscale than the ivory. Also, mommy barbie, do you have trouble making simple decisions? All of your threads involve picking colors on your very own car. . . surely you don't need our help.

I voted black, because it's easier to clean than tan. Dirt won't show on darker interriors. With tan interiors you'll have to clean constantly.

Taupe

Okay, my flame suit is on. I am going to pick the Taupe over the black even though it is harder to keep clean. I think the Taupe looks more upscale and the lighter interior brightens things up whereas the all black interiors is a tad blah for me. Just my !

It's cool, everyone has their own taste. For me it's just that i've had experience with both types of interior in the past i used to own a Toyota Celica with Dark interior had it for 11 years i cleaned it once in awhile not often only has 80k miles on it, but when i sold it the interior looks just as good the day i bought it. Now my Mom has two cars with Tan interior both are Mini vans one was our old Mazda MPV and now she's driving an Odyssey. The Mazda she had it for 10 years and the Interior looks like it's aged alot since we had it, of course it's been cleaned once in awhile not as much as it supposed to. Now with the Odyssey she got it since '99 the interior looks really horrible because she doesn't clean the car like most of us would, there's so many stains everywhere like coffee, coke, dirt. It just shows more on the light colors than the dark color
