Question Transmission - Is this normal?

I was looking around under the hood getting ready to do a transmission and transfer case fluid change on our 08 RDX. I noticed on top of the transaxle are two vertical tubes maybe an inch tall. The one on the driver's side has a rubber fitting that's connected to nothing. Looks like some fluid has been spewing from it as well. The other one is clean with nothing at all attached to it. Does this sound normal?

Yes, this is normal. This is a breather. Just remove that rubber cap, wash it, clear all debris around breather and put it back.

Thank you proto. I was able to stop by the dealer today and the tech there said the same.
