Tire size question for 20" rims

I am new to the site and I thank everyone for all the info i have recievd about the RDX. Just purchased mine 1 week ago and purchased 20" rims I was wondering about tire size for the 20 x 8.5 rim. If i get a 255/45/20 toyo proxes ST tire does anybody know if this tire size will cause any rubbing? and if my spedo will be off?any suggestions on tire size? I would like to keep as close to the stock in terms of comfort as possible.
Thanks for your help

Here's some info I posted in an earlier thread regarding 20" tire sizes:

With both 245/45/20 and 245/40/20, your tire diameter is about 1/2" different from the stock 235-55-18 tires. With the 45 profiles, your speedometer will read low compared to the stock setup (i.e. you're driving faster than you think you are), and with the 40 profiles, your speedometer will read high compared to the stock setup. I'd personally prefer the latter, but then of course you're giving less protection to those new wheels.
You're considering 255/45/20, which have an even larger diameter than the 245/45/20, so the speedometer will read even lower than I mentioend above. Probably not very smart, unless you figure out a way to re-calibrate the speedometer.

Also, you mention wanting to retain a stock level of comfort. This simply will not be achievable with 20" wheels while retaining the correct-sized tires, as you're giving up a lot of sidewall thickness, which results in a stiffer ride. Plus, your handling and acceleration will be adversely affected (much higher unsprung weight, unless you're getting some VERY lightweight 20" wheels, which I doubt is the case), your replacement tire costs go up, tire availability decreases, you have greater risk of bending a wheel (due to less sidewall protection), higher theft rates, more likely to "curb" wheel when parallel parking, etc.

But they'll look really cool, right?

ddb, come on, theres NOTHING WRONG with puttin 20's on, hell, infiniti comes std with 20's and alot of other higher end manufact are moving that way too.

there will always be bigger....remember when 16 inch was uppermarket.....dont hate on the 20's.

I didn't say there anything WRONG with 20s, but I think it's important to be aware of the pros and cons of the decision. The ONLY "pro" is that they look nice.

Thanks last question. do you remember when u had the 255's on if it rubbed anywhere or was your turning radius more limited then stock.

thanks again in advance for your help.
