All,

With the price of gas these days I am thinking of trying Regular (87 octane). Has anyone tried this and know the long-term effects.

Thanks

Read the manual about this. It says it is OK in a pinch but will damage the engine if used a lot.

The manual advises against it. Why risk it? Even if you drive 20,000 miles per year and average 15mpg, you would only save $400/year ($33.33/month) if you use standard gas instead of premium, assuming a $0.30 difference per gallon. If your budget is really this tight, I'd think there are better ways to cut your expenses by $33.33 per month than to risk long-term engine damage to a nearly $40,000 automobile!
