RDX full coverage insurance in CANADA

I just want to check out whether my insurance company is charging too much or ok in CANADA. I see any thread for insurance, but those figures are from the folks in US, no comparison at all ........ That's why I open this thread for Canadian

Here is mine:
I am paying $170/month for 1,000 deductible full coverage

Over 30 yrs old, 10+ yrs driving experience.

6 Stars customer with Statefarm

No ticket record, no point deducted

Accident claimed twice in the last 5 yrs but not my faults (being hit from behind) and the insurance didn't increase my premium for both incidents.

No multiple discount but insurance bought along with the condo insurance.

Living In A Communist State Has Benifits

Here in good old Sask I am paying 93/m with a 700 ded. Not bad but the down side is I must live in Sask and insure with SGI which is Gov owned. All kidding aside Sask is a great place to live and the Insurance is reasonable. I am 40 with a good driving record but all ages in Sask pay the same. the only difference is your driving record which can give you up to 20 % savings. I have 20.

Paying $159 a month $500 comp, $1000 collision, $1 mil liability...probably have a speeding ticket there somewhere.

Nope no multiple car discount. I just turned 28 a few months ago. We just had that big cuffufle of reducing insurance rates here in Alberta effective this year I believe. The only discounts I have is my wife's alumni discount (which is not much at all, it's more so for the ability to get this insurance) and multiple product discount as I have my home insurance with them as well and again, this is minimal. There are certainly cheaper companies out there but I just like dealing with the one I'm with.

Yes, if I have the multiple car discount, it would be roughly the same as you.

Any other RDX owners in GTA can share with us how much you are paying for your RDX insurance ?

I am paying less, though I'm not sure exactly what I'm paying (did a lump sum up front to get points on my credit card). Something like 1500 which includes gap insurance and I think a 1k deductible (though might be 500). 1 or 2 million in liability. I got it through Meloche Monex (part of TD), which only provides insurance to people in cretain groups (graduates of certain schools and members of professional associations and stuff). They were by far the best rate I found around.

Your postal code has a big impact on what you pay. M postal code in general being in Toronto is higher. And even within the M postal code it fluctuates

But a 35 year old driver, normal commute, clean record, multi-car discount, multi-policy discount (meaning the company insures the house) is:

Scarborough about $1600 to $1700/yr (M postal code).

Downtown Toronto about $1800 to $1900/yr (M postal code)

Missisauga about $1500 to $1600/yr (L postal code).

Oshawa/Whitby about $1300/yr to $1400/yr (L postal code).

Used $1,000 deductible, $2,000,000 liability (full coverages) when I got the quotes worked out.

We (people in GTA) are those being ripped off ! Already paid 30% or above on the RDX as comparing to the folks in US. Paid double or more on sales taxes (14%) and doulbe destination charges ($1,450). Now, paying almost double for the insurance as well
