Potential New RDX Owner Question (Audio)
Hi all,
I've been looking at picking up an 07-09 RDX for awhile now for a new daily driver. (Sold my TSX). I love Acuras reliability and general build quality. I need something reliable, and snow worthy here in NY.
Now, my question is regarding the tech package audio system vs. the base audio. How much better is the audio in the tech package? Am I going to kick myself down the road because I didn't hold out for it?
I also have noticed how rare RDX's are, there are only a couple for sale in a 75 mile radius from me. I may have to buy online and get it shipped.
I'm looking to spend under 17k on something with less than 70kmi.
Thanks everyone

I think you should aim to get the tech pkg with preown, you aren't going to be paying that much more for it and you will have the peace of mind that you have the better audio.
I can't compare since I only have tech (2010).

Tech is the way to go if you are even thinking about it, the base model is for people who dont care about navigation or listening to music and just want a chill ride.

i really dislike the base model audio system when i had it as a rental. the ELS (panasonic) sound system on our tech package cars have deeper bass and high frequency response, specially with the 4 extra tweeters. plus you get a screen, a must in a luxury car.

I just bought an '07 SHAWD with tech pkg and 78158 miles for my daughter. Paid $16400 + TTL. I never even considered base model. I wanted the piece of mind the Tech package provides a father of a new driver (Nav, backup camera, bluetooth, etc.)
I must say I feel like I got a pretty good deal...based on what I have seen listed.

You may find the base and tech models will be around the same amount of dollars depending on mileage. I like the 08 tech model because:
- Driver memory seat that also adjust side view mirrors (comes in handy at night)
- A little softer ride (still firm by wife's standards)
- Auto dim rear view mirror
- Updated M.I.D. with driver personalized settings
- Another year past the 1st year model run issues (I think the 07 RDX has been the most trouble-free 1st model run vehicle Acura has made).

I would hold out for the tech package if you can. I have a 2010 with tech and I think the sound, bluetooth, nav and backup camera are well worth holding out for. It would cost a lot more to have these installed with aftermarket equipment than to find one with a tech package.

My 2010 base also has bluetooth and backup camera. Since all my music is in MP3, I doubt it will sound better on the ELS speakers of the tech package. Nav is nice, but I dont like the idea of paying for a 3 year old navigation system (or older).
