I was backing out, and the passenger side mirror hit a trashcan, over-rotated, and looks like it broke on the inside. See pics. What's the best way to repair this?

1) Leave as it is? (worried about moisture intrusion)

2) Buy used side mirror and replace.

3) Can I replace just that black part that looks broken?

4) Buy aftermarket new, can I put the covering from my old mirror onto the new one, that wouldn't be painted.
