Okay !! I have a question on oil changes. Isnt the RDX oil change intervals at 3750 miles for severe and 7500 miles for normal? Why is the Maint Minder thing coming on at 4500 miles and indicating the A service and 15% oil life. I checked the dipstick and the color of the oil is good (oil is light brown) and the levels are between the normal marks. Any advice on this issue?

 

It ain't all about your mileage anymore! It has to do with how you drive... hiway vs city stop & go, (idling). The minder is told by the comp. when the correct time is to change the oil. Do some search's & you'll see lots of discussions on this topic!

 

With 15% remaining oil life, and 4500 miles on your odo, you still have about another 800 miles to go before you need to change your oil. That will put you at about 5300 miles. I'd say thats about normal from what I've read here.

Also your oil color with synthethic will stay that light brown for alot longer than conventional oil.
