odd downshift

Hi all,
my 07 rdx was on a highway going down a long hill, at about 60, road a bit wet but not slippery, and the car seemed to downshift for about 2 seconds, then back to normal. Same thing happened again on the return, no wet road. Can this be some proper handling thing, or is it a possible problem developing? it was like I hit the paddle for a sec, but I don't think I did. Car in D...
thanks...

The transmission control module is programmed with Grade Logic Control. The GLC monitors acceleration/deceleration, speed, engine parameters and throttle position. You will occasionally feel it down-shifting to utilize engine braking on a downhill. It monitors brake pedal position as well. If you touch the brake on a steady down-hill, it may down-shift to adjust.

Another feature, Shift Hold Control, is active upon entering a tight corner with rapid deceleration and a closed throttle. The SHC will detect performance oriented driving and change shift mapping to hold a lower gear longer for corner exit.
