Question custom pearl black emblems

Since Acura doesn't make pearl black emblems i have decided to try and fabricate my own via hobby shop spray paint. I have been doing some research to figure out exactly how to do this. The job is definitely harder than what it seems. If anyone has any advice or experience please share i will post pics when i'm done with my emblems.

I've done it before on my old Scion tC. It's pretty easy and you can get the stuff at your local auto parts store. What you will need to get is:

1. One can of 3M Adhesive Promoter (this sticks the paint to the emblems)
2. One can of whatever color you want to spray the emblem with, do not worry whether it is flat or gloss as the clear cloat will give it a glossy look when you are done
3. One can of clear coat
4. Some high grit sandpaper, I don't remember what I used. It may have been 400 grit.

It's pretty self explanatory. Wet sand the emblems to get them nice and clean. You don't need to sand it too hard, just give it a few passes. Let them dry and hit them with the adhesive promoter a couple times. Next, spray the emblems with a VERY light coat of paint, you do not need to drench it in paint as that will only make it longer for it to dry. I don't remember exactly how many coats I put on it, it was probably around 5-10 LIGHT coats. After it has all dried, spray a couple layers of clear coat on it. Voila, you're done.
