Thumbs up Nice feature on RDX

Just noticed this yesterday. As I park in the garage at home and underground parking at work not something I would notice as much even with almost 2 months of solid rain.

Put front wipers on shift into reverse and the rear wipers come on automatically for several swipes to clear rear window for backing up then shut off automatically.

Also, when the front wipers are in intermittent mode and the brake is released such as when a light turns green, the wipers automatically take a sweep.

i think the rear has to be on too... the one thing thats sucks is that the rear is only 1 speed

The rear does not have to be on for this. I know because the first few times it happened to me, I reach to turn the rear wiper off and it was already off.

Can you guys tell me what wiper modes are available on the rear (independent of the special circumstances discussed above)? Is it only low-speed continuous, or does it offer an intermittant as well?

Single speed only, no intermittent. Also, a spray-and-sweep mode.

I like the auto on while reversing. It took me a while to notice, but I appreciate it though.

once u turn on the rear.. it will go twice.. then it goes once ever 5 seconds or so...

if u spray the fluid, it goes twice...

if u have front wipers on, the rear will go twice when u put car in reverse

If you set the front wipers to "intermittent" and the rear to "on", the rear will indeed operate in intermittent mode.

Ah, OK so it sounds like the rears will use the same mode as the front then, with a few extra tricks thrown in. Very cool.

Never noticed that, thanks Kobo!

(Page 120 of the Owner's Manual describes it)

Edited to add me reading the Manual more closely

Rear wipers operate intermittently if the fronts are set on intermittent mode.

Yeah that's what I thought. You can't have the rear wiper on anymore than intermittently. It'll give two swipes quickly when turned on, but after that its all intermitent no matter what speed the front is set at.

yeah it is awesome . .I noticed that last week too ...

Anyone else notice that if a CD is playing you can pause it by pressing the disc #? so if #5 is playing and you're at a drive through, just press #5 and it pauses ... kinda cool I may be late with this one though :P
