New RDX on the way

I just bought a new '08 RDX Tech for my wife and will take delivery next Thursday (bought out of state). She test drove a Ford Edge, Ford Flex, RX350 and the RDX. The RDX was the only one that gave her a shit eatin' grin like the one she had when I bought her an Audi TT Roadster.

I am surprised at some of the posts here where people are complaining about accelleration and getting beat by other cars. It never once crossed my mind that the RDX is intended to be any sort of performance machine but had to have "a little extra" over the CRV so the two wouldn't get confused. I drive a Civic as my daily driver but have a 997 C2S as my weekend/summer car. If somebody wants to buy a car for racing the RDX is not the choice. If somebody wants a great all around daily driver that is capable in inclement weather-put this car on the list for test.

Wink

I agree whole heartedly C2SGuy. The RDX is NOT meant for racing; rather it is a nice “sporty” CUV with one of the most sophisticated AWD systems and more than adequate power to handle spirited driving. Enjoy it for what it is and stop trying to make it do something (race) which is not its purpose.

I cannot wait until the first snowfall this year! I have always fretted snow as I've always had sporty type cars that anything more than two or three inches of snow would be a hassle (not to mention the aniexty not knowing if I would be able to make it to my destination or get stuck on the way depending if the snow plows had come yet or not)!

Now, I'm like, bring the snow on this year! I can't wait. I know, if it's a foot even the RDX may have it's difficulties, but, it has GOT to be WAY better than all my previous two wheel drive sports cars.

The word "turbo" used in the sense of improved FE, obviously confuses the "boy-racer" teeny-bopper mentality types.

Interesting to see what other people consider. We test drove a Subaru Forester 2.5XT, Mazda CX-7 and Toyota Rav4 V6. The RDX was clearly nicer than the others both in terms of trim and driving and wasn't much more expensive.

I'll be interested to see how it is in the snow as well. One thought tho, tires are an important part of snow performance, and from the reports on Tirerack, the OEM tires aren't stellar performers.

The OEM tires did very well in my last winter. Better than most other all seasons I've used.

My RDX is not even two months old and I really don't put a lot of miles on (work is 2.5 miles away!) so I'll have plenty of tread on the stock tires come this winter. Can't wait... First time I've even been so excited for that first snow fall since being a kid!

You will absolutely love the way it handles, pulls, corners, etc. in the snow! The Mich. tires aren't the best, but when they're faily new, they aren't bad. Braking is probably the worst part in snow. enjoy the RDX through all else!
